Washington Metro ILG

Washington Metro Industry Liaison Group (WMILG) is a membership organization devoted to assisting federal government contractors in the Washington, DC metropolitan area to meet their diversity goals and successfully fulfill their OFCCP compliance requirements. The membership meets on a regular basis throughout year to discuss new developments in EEO compliance and review regulations and guidance from the OFCCP, EEOC, and other regulatory agencies.

WMILG has been active in the Washington DC metro area contractor community since (at least) 2001.

Industry Liaison Groups

In the early 1980’s, in anticipation of new regulations for Executive Order 11246, Ellen Shong, past Director of the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, Department of Labor, encouraged the establishment of Industry Liaison Groups to promote open communications between federal contractors and the OFCCP.

Representatives from Federal Contractors began forming ILGs together with the Department of Labor in regions around the country. These groups sought consultation and assistance from OFCCP representatives regarding compliance issues. With collaboration and encouragement from the OFCCP Director’s Office, ILGs began forming all around the country.

ILGs provide the OFCCP and employers with an opportunity to discuss changes in federal contracting requirements and compliance trends.
